Description
The Antonio rug is built on the ancient logic of the dhurry – cotton yarns woven flat, thread by thread, by hand. Across its 230 by 330 centimetre surface, sweeping abstract curves overlap like sections of a map, each zone picked out in a different tone: warm ivory, soft ash grey, denim blue, olive and honeyed amber, all outlined in fine charcoal contour lines. The ribbed, low-pile texture reads almost like corduroy underfoot, a subtle striped weave that catches the light differently as you move across it. Because it is flatwoven rather than piled, it sits flush to the floor, resists crushing, and is simple to keep clean season after season. Reverse the rug and the plain cotton backing confirms its handmade honesty – no synthetic backing, just tightly woven natural fibre. Laid beneath a seating arrangement or across a reception room floor, it draws the eye with its quiet geometry while tying together the surrounding palette, softening footsteps and adding warmth to hardwood or stone flooring alike.
